This formula works in two stages — you can see the separation in the liquids in the picture where the bubbles are. The first stage removes make-up, and the second stage conditions. Just shake it up and dab some onto a cotton square. (Cotton balls absorb — and waste — too much product.) Then gently press over your eyes for a few seconds. This will remove a majority of the make-up. Avoid rubbing the thin skin surrounding your eyes. This remover will lift away even the most stubborn waterproof formulas. How a formula can be so good at removing make-up and still soothe my sensitive skin is beyond me. Kudos, Lancôme.
This remover leaves a slight oily residue, but I use this before I use a cleanser or before I hop in the shower, so it’s not concerning. Even if I didn’t immediately wash it off, I probably wouldn’t be bothered because it feels hydrating rather than icky.
When I was little, my mom had a toner that smelled like roses, and this smells just like it. It makes me look forward to being responsible by removing my makeup nightly. The one pictured is the sample size, but the 4.7-ounce bottle retails for $26, which is completely reasonable for the size and effectiveness.
